Pregnancy, labor, and postpartum are physiological process experienced by
women. But, in this process most of women get health problems which can
increase morbidity and mortality of mothers and babies. Based on Indonesia
Demographic Health Survey on 2012, maternal mortality rate is still quite high, ie
359/ 100,000 live births and for the IMR is 32/ 1,000 live births. Giving
comprehensive care from pregnancy till family planning is one of the solution to
prevent or overcome these problems.
This final paper report on case study is using 7 steps of Varney with
midwifery management approach and SOAP documentation.
The research get diagnosis Mrs. S G3P2A0 38 gestation week physiological
with stiffness in the back and waist, followed by labor, postpartum, and new born
baby physiological.
On pregnancy found gaps in the ANC, such as: Haemoglobin checked only
once in the second trimester and no assessment of HIV – syphilis. The labor, 58
steps of APN aren’t giving completely. In the postpartum period hadn’t given A
vitamin at a dose of 2 x 200,000 IU, client aren’t be a member of family planning
yet and on new born baby care there isn’t differences between the theory and
practice.
The conclusion of this case study is on the application of midwifery care
there found some differences between the theory and practice in the clinic. For
health team may improve services by apply the theories completely and give a
comprehensive care.
