PENGARUH PERAWATAN KAKI DENGAN SENAM KAKI TERHADAP RISIKO ULKUS KAKI DIABETIK PADA PASIEN DIABETES MELLITUS TIPE 2

Diabetes mellitus is a disease characterized by hyperglycemia and metabolic disorders. Absolute or relative deficiency of insulin action and/or secretion. Symptoms that are complained of in patients with Diabetes Mellitus are polydipsia, polyuria, polyphagia. Weight loss, tingling. This has an impact on increasing the incidence of complications causing disturbances in several organs of the body. One of the disorders that occur clinically in the foot abnormalities in the form of diabetic ulcers. Diabetic ulcer is one of the serious complications of diabetes mellitus. One of the preventive efforts that can be done in patients with diabetes mellitus is foot care skills with foot exercises to reduce complications of diabetic ulcers in patients with diabetes mellitus. Foot care with foot exercises can avoid complications that can worsen the patient's condition and can help improve blood circulation, strengthen the leg muscles and prevent foot deformities. This study aims to analyze the effect of foot care with foot exercise on the risk of diabetic ulcers in patients with type II diabetes mellitus. In this study using quasi-experimental methods with pre-test and post-test with control group design.
The results showed that the results of the analysis of the Wilcoxon test found that foot care with foot exercises prevented the risk of foot ulcers in type 2 diabetes patients (p = 0.000) and found that foot exercises prevented the risk of foot ulcers in type 2 diabetes patients in the treatment group (p = 0.000). Foot care with foot exercise was effective in reducing the risk of foot ulcers in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (p=0.000). The conclusion in this study was that the provision of foot care interventions with foot exercises showed a better effect compared to the results in the control group who were not given foot care with foot exercises.
