PENGARUH YOGA MENOPAUSE TERHADAP TINGKAT KECEMASAN DAN KADAR KORTISOL

Background: Menopause is the most physiological thing in a woman's reproductive cycle, but in the face of this period many women feel symptoms before even during menopause in the first year. One of the most common symptoms experienced by menopausal women is anxiety that can trigger an increase in blood pressure and blood sugar levels. Yoga is a combination of movement, breathing techniques and meditation that is useful for lowering the level of anxiety in the body. This study aims to determine the effect of menopausal yoga on changes in anxiety levels and cortisol levels.
Method: True experiment with rendomized pretest-posttes control group design, respondents in this study as many as 20 respondents in the intervention group and control group by means of cluster sampling. Yoga in the intervention group was given 3 times a week for 1 month with a yoga duration of 45 minutes. Anxiety and salivary cortisol levels were measured before and after treatment. Data analysis using a paired sample t test on anxiety levels and Wilcoxon on cortisol levels
Results: The results of a statistical test of the effect of menopausal yoga on anxiety levels obtained a p value of the anxiety level of the intervention group of 0.000 with an average decrease of 8.45 while the decrease in anxiety score was greater than the control group with an average decrease of 4.35. The effect of menopausal yoga on cortisol levels in the interventional group had a p value of 0.000 with an average decrease of 0.1205 compared to the control group with a p value of 0.235 and an increase of 0.082.
Conclusion: Menopausal yoga, which is done regularly every 3 weeks for 45 minutes, is one of the effective efforts that can reduce anxiety levels and cortisol levels.
