PROSEDUR PEMERIKSAAN RADIOGRAFI SHOULDER JOINT PADA SUSPECT TRAUMA DI INSTALASI RADIOLOGI RSUD IR. SOEKARNO KABUPATEN SUKOHARJO
XMLThe procedure for examining shoulder joint radiographs in trauma according to Lampignano and Kendrick (2018) uses projections in the form of Anterior Posterior (Neutral Rotation), Transthoracic Lateral, PA Oblique Scapular Y, Tangential (Supraspinatus Outlet), AP Apical Oblique. While the radiographic examination procedure of the shoulder joint on suspect trauma using the AP thorax projection shows 2 joints, namely the joint at the shoulder joint. This study aims determine the procedure for radiographic examination of the shoulder joint on suspect trauma, the reasons why using the AP thorax projection show two joints, and the application of radiation protection is carried out at the Radiology Installation of RSUD Ir. Soekarno, Sukoharjo Regency on radiographic examination of the shoulder joint on suspected trauma.
This research is a qualitative research with a case study approach. Collecting data by means of observation, documentation and structured interviews with radiographers, PPR, sending doctors, and radiology specialists. The data were analyzed using an interactive model.
The results showed that the radiographic examination procedure of the shoulder joint on suspect trauma at the Radiology Installation of RSUD Ir. Soekarno, Sukoharjo Regency, used the AP thorax projection, showing two joints with the patient in the supine position and performed without special preparation. The reason for using the AP thorax projection shows two joints, namely to compare the two dislocated joints with normal/healthy. In the application of radiation protection less attention is paid. The justification for carrying out the shoulder joint examination is by taking a chest x-ray showing two joints, limiting the collimation area adjustment dose which is still too wide and protection optimization always strives for one photo so that it does not experience photo repetition and the use of exposure factors that are still too high so that the acromioclavicular joint is not well visualized. There is an effort to apply protection from radiation safety during the inspection, namely trying one photo.
Conclusions on the radiographic examination procedure of the shoulder joint on suspect trauma at the radiology installation of RSUD Ir. Soekarno, Sukoharjo Regency on the preparation of tools and materials and patient preparation according to (Lampignano dan Kendrick, 2018), but on the projection used using the AP thorax projection shows two joints. In the application of protection, less attention is paid to justification, optimization and dose limiting, so it needs to be increased.
