EFEKTIVITAS PENYULUHAN MEDIA BUSY BOOK TERHADAP PENGETAHUAN TENTANG KEBERSIHAN GIGI PADA SISWA SISWI SDN 01 SENGON KABUPATEN BATANG

The most common dental and oral diseases suffered by the community are dental caries and gum inflammation. Hygiene problems that are still experienced by elementary scool age children is problems with teeth as much as 86%. The first step to increase children's knowledge of dental and oral hygiene is to carry out counseling efforts. Busy book is a book that contains a variety of activities that are designed creatively. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of counseling using busy book media on knowledge about dental hygiene among students at SDN 01 Sengon, Batang Regency.
This research method uses a quasi-experimental approach (quasi-experimental) with a research design using One Group Pretest-Posttest. The sample in this study were 34 students in grades 4 and 5 of SDN 01 Sengon. Before measuring knowledge, counseling was carried out using busy book media. The measurement method is using a questionnaire sheet before and after counseling. This research was conducted for two days, with the difference from pretest to posttest for one day. The data analysis is descriptive quantitative which is presented in tabular form.
The results showed that there was an increase in knowledge of dental hygiene with busy book media counseling. Before the counseling was carried out, no one got good criteria, but after counseling with busy book media the level of knowledge in the good category increased to 58.8%. It can be suggested that knowledge education about dental hygiene with busy book media is effective for children.
