TEKNIK PEMERIKSAAN SHOULDER JOINT PADA KASUS FRAKTUR PROKSIMAL HUMERUS

The shoulder joint examination procedure in the case of a proximal humerus fracture has several projection techniques. According to Lampignano and Kendrick (2018) on radiographic examination of the shoulder joint fracture cases using AP Neutral, Transthoracic lateral and PA oblique projections (scapular Y lateral). Meanwhile, the authors found articles that only used AP projection. This study aims to determine the procedure for examining the shoulder joint with clinical fractures of the proximal humerus.
This research is a descriptive study that uses a case review study method with a case series approach. Data retrieval was obtained through PubMed, ProQuest, and Google Scholar with the keywords Shoulder Joint Radiography, Proximal Humeral Fracture published in the period 2011-2021.
The results showed that the radiographic examination procedure of the shoulder joint with clinical posterior dislocation begins with patient preparation, namely removing objects that have the potential to cause artifacts. The use of tools and materials includes X-ray machine, Image Receptor (IR) measuring 24 x 30 cm, marker and processing unit. Radiographic examination of the shoulder joint in cases of proximal humeral fracture using the AP projection. The use of the AP projection plays a role in producing an image of the entire shoulder joint that includes the proximal humerus in a well-formed shape without requiring much movement from the patient.
