ABSTRACT
Background : Maternal mortality rate in Indonesia until now is still in a high category. Early detection can be used as prevention of high-risk pregnancy. Along with technological advances, there is an innovation of new teaching materials with attractive and interactive look, existence of visual, motion, and audio components often called as audiovisual. Expected by using audiovisual media can improve understanding in pregnant women by giving health education.
Objective : This case study aim to provide health education based on pregnancy audiovisual media towards attitude and knowledge improvement regarding early pregnancy detection.
Methods : The method of this literature review is review and analyze 6 journals in the last 5 years from PubMed, Onesearch, and Google Scholar database.
Results : Based on the results of the study and literature review, health education based on audiovisual media is proven to increase knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women regarding early detection of pregnancy risks.
Conclusion : The provision of health education based on audiovisual media represent a good impact for pregnant women, which is indicated by increasing knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women regarding early detection of pregnancy risks.
Suggestion : The result of this research expected can be used as reference in method development to providing health education based on audiovisual media regarding early detection of pregnancy risks both in the community and health service facilities.
