PERANAN DUAL ENERGY COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY (DECT) PADA PEMERIKSAAN CT UROLOGI DENGAN KLINIS UROLITHIASIS
XMLABSTRACT
Urolithiasis is the third most common disease in urology after urinary tract infections. Stones can be detected using conventional CT and MSCT but produce large doses. DECT is a modality that can detect stones by interpreting them into colors according to the classification and composition of stones without producing a large radiation dose and having a high level of sensitivity. The purpose of this study was to analyze the role of Dual Energy Computed Tomography (DECT) in detecting urolithiasis.
This type of research is a literature review with a narrative review design. Result synthesis is done by collecting and analyzing literature by selecting articles that fit the topic in the problem formulation. Sources of data in the study used came from Google Scholar, Springer, Elsevier and PubMed related to the keywords DECT Urology, Urolithiasis, and Urinary Stones. There were seven articles that were relevant to be used as literature sources according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data analysis was carried out by comparing the findings of the reviewed articles with theories from textbooks and other research articles.
The results of this study indicate that the sensitivity level of DECT in detecting stones is 75% - 87.5% and reduces the radiation dose by more than 50% of the total dose. DECT sensitivity using filters on high kV tubes and iterative reconstruction algorithms on DECT. Dose reduction is done by eliminating True Non Enhance Image (TNEI) which is the result of CT Urography imagery, but not all stones can be detected with Virtual Non Enhance Image (VNEI) which is the result of DECT image. This is because VNEI cannot detect stones
