The medical record storage room is one part of the medical record unit that functions to store, provide medical record documents for various purposes. Medical records must be stored and maintained to avoid the danger of damage and loss from intrinsic and extrinsic factors. The purpose of this research is to find outan overview of the security and confidentiality aspects of medical record documents in the medical record storage room based on intrinsic factors, extrinsic factors and confidentiality of medical record documents.
The type of this research is Literature Review research using Google Schoolar online database and RMIK e-journal published from 2014 – 2020.
The results of a review of data analysis from research journals show that aspects of the security and confidentiality of medical record documents based on the intrinsic factor of damage have the most effect 40% on paper folders and 20% glue/adhesive. Extrinsic damage factors that affect the physical environmental factors of dust are 60%, there are 40% of damage to medical record documents is caused by biological organisms and 60% damage to medical record documents is caused by chemical destruction and human negligence. There are 90% of medical record documents that have not been kept confidential in the storage room. The conclusion is that the intrinsic factors of map paper, glue/adhesive, extrinsic factors of the physical environment of dust, biological organisms, chemical destroyers and human negligence can affect the security and confidentiality of medical record documents in the medical record storage room.
