Hepatocellular carcinoma is the fifth-largest cancer in the world. Multi Slice Computed Tomography (MSCT) examination also aims to establish diagnoses related to upper abdomen and lower abdomen morphology to be more accurate, MSCT is also the most commonly used modality for preoperative, staging, treatment planning and follow-up of patients with good liver tumors it is known or just conjecture. This study aims to determine the procedure for multiphase abdominal MSCT examination in HCC cases, determine the role of HU variations and scan delay.
This type of research is qualitative research with a literature study approach. Data collection was carried out in April to June 2020 through Google Scholar, ProQuest, and Google with MSCT Abdomen Multiphase, HCC, HU and scan delay using data collection method using documentation method, data analysis was done descriptively by making narrative and tabulating the text. highly relevant publications and journals and then compare them with theory so conclusions and suggestions can be drawn.
The results of the study based on literature studies show that the multiphase abdominal MSCT examination procedure in HCC cases begins with fasting patients at least 6 hours before the examination, checks for serum creatinine, fills out informed consent, drinks 500 ml of oral contrast of water before scanning. contrast media used 100 ml -120 ml with a concentration of 300 mg / l - 370 mg / I followed with 40 ml saline flush. The phases used are non-contrast phase, early arterial phase, late arterial phase, venous portal phase and equilbrium phase or delayed phase. Abdominal multiphase MSCT is very effective in establishing the diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma, can determine the size of the lesion, and determine the location of the HCC lesion. The bolus tracking technique with a 6 second scan delay and HU 100 values in the abdominal aorta aims to improve the detection of hypervascular lesions in the liver.
