ANALISIS PENGGUNAAN SENSITIVITY ENCODING (SENSE) PADA PEMERIKSAAN MRI BRAIN SEKUEN 3D BALANCED FAST FIELD ECHO (BFFE) DENGAN NILAI R-FAKTOR OPTIMAL
XMLBrain is a vital organ in the cranial cavity that consists of a central nervous system that often occurs abnormalities. One of the sequences used in brain MRI examination is 3D BFFE. This sequence is great for evaluating nerves and fluids in the brain. Using 3D BFFE on brain MRI often shows motion artifacts caused by long scanning times. One method for reducing long acquisition with SENSE, because it can shorten time by half, but can reduce the value of the signal in the image. Reduction in SNR and CNR occurs if the r-factor used is too large, while the scanning time will increase. The purpose of this study was to study the role of using Sensitivity Encoding (SENSE) in the MRI examination of 3D BFFE brain sequences with optimal R-factor values
This research uses descriptive method by using Study Literature. The data search method is done by searching data on Google Scholar, Mendeley, PubMed by using relevant keywords. Journals that have been collected based on inclusion criteria. 7 journals that were deemed relevant were made from sources of literature which were then analyzed.
The results of this study are the use of Sensitivity Encoding (SENSE) in MRI examination of brain sequences of 3D Balanced Fast Field Echo (BFFE), reducing scan time, increasing SNR, reducing SAR (specific absorption rate), reducing motion artifacts, and increasing temporal resolution. And the optimal r-factor in this study is 2 because it produces good image quality. Namely, reduced scan time, high SNR; good CNR between fat, water, and surrounding tissue.
