Optimalisasi Penggunaan SAFIRE Terhadap Dosis Radiasi Dan Kualitas Citra Pada Pemeriksaan MSCT Kepala
XMLHead MSCT requires the use of low radiation doses so that it benefits the patient but results in increased MSCT image noise. SAFIRE (Sinogram Affirmed Reconstriction) is an Iterative Recontruction (IR) technique capable of increasing Contrast to Noise Ratio (CNR) and Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR), does not affect the accuracy and linearity of CT numbers, and maintains spatial resolution. According to Greffier et al (2013) the use of SAFIRE results in a decrease in noise, an increase in SNR and CNR along with an increased level of strength.
This research method is descriptive with the literature review study approach. The study was conducted by collecting a database published in 2013-2020 by selecting articles that discussed the use of SAFIRE on CT head scan. The articles collected were reduced based on the inclusion criteria of radiation dose and head MSCT image quality. Obtained 4 relevant journals to be used as sources of literature and then analyzed by reviewing the results obtained through journals and compared with the appropriate literature.
The results of literature studies from the research of Korn et al (2013), Michael et al (2014), and Bodelle et al (2015) show that the use of SAFIRE on radiation doses and image quality on head CT scan can reduce radiation doses by adjusting the tube current to 255-260 mAs while maintaining image quality in the FBP and SAFIRE ratio.
The best SAFIRE strength levels in S3 indicate seizures and tumors, S4 in ICH indications and S5 in infarct indications that can be assessed from an increase in CNR from 1.8 to 3.1. Reduce of radiation doses 15% - 29% on DLP measurements and effective dose reduction from 2.4 mSv to 1.7 mSv.
