In the examination MRI of the Brain with Axial T2WI FLAIR cuts a sequence, several variations can be used. NEX is divided into 3 categories namely NEX short with the NEX value is less than 1, NEX medium with a value of 2-3, and NEX multiple with a value of more than 4 in Westbrook (2014). The purpose of this research was to find out the effect of NEX on SNR and the time of scanning as well as to see the value of NEX that is optimal to get good image results however the scanning time is not too long.
This type of research is an experiment, this research was conducted at RSUP Dr. Hasan Sadikin Bandung. This research was conducted in 8 volunteers with 4 variations of the value of NEX in each volunteer. Then the SNR value is measured at each variation of the value NEX on the organs of the white matter, grey matter and CSF. The results of the SNR value are then processed and analyzed using the ANOVA test to see the effect of NEX on SNR. And making the intersection graph of time scanning and the SNR to see the value of NEX is optimaL
The results of this research indicated that there was an effect in the use of the variation of the value of NEX to the SNR value in MRI examination of Brain weighting T2WI with Axial FLAIR cuts sequences, in each organ has a p-value
