PERANAN PROYEKSI PLANTAR AXIAL VIEW PADA PEDIS DENGAN KASUS DIABETES MELLITUS

ABSTRACT
The role of plantar axial view projections has been carried out in pedis with cases of diebetes mellitus. The background of this study is the addition of special projections used in pedis with cases of diabetes mellitus. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of examination of plantar axial view projections in pedis with cases of diebetes mellitus.
This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study approach to literature study. Data was collected from April to June 2020 through google scholar with keywords radiography pedis, diabetic foot, diagnostic imaging for diabetes using research methods: observation, documentation and literature study. Data analysis is done by summarizing or reviewing relevant journals and then comparing them with theory so that conclusions and suggestions can be drawn.
From the results of the study based on the results of the literature study states that for radiographic examinations in pedis with clinical diabetes mellitus performed with plain radiographs using anteroposterior (AP), obliq and lateral projections on each radiological request it is very important to present an overall pedis picture, adding weight-bearing view if the standard anteroposterior (AP), obliq and lateral projections still lack the necessary anatomic locations such as soft tissue displacement and the actual position of the underlying bone structure when standing. In addition to the above description, there is also a special view available, namely plantar axial view to show sesamoid bone exposure.
