INTERVENSI KEPERAWATAN KOMPRES JELI JAHE MERAH TERHADAP DERAJAT NYERI DAN STATUS INFLAMASI KLIEN ARTHRITIS GOUT DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS RIJALI KOTA AMBON

Background: Arthritis Gout is a progressive chronic disease that occurs because deposition of uric acid crystals in the tissue around the joint causing pain. One way to deal with pain and Inflamation status non-pharmacologically is by compressing the jelly containing ginger essential oil that is practical to be carried anywhere by the client.
Objective: to determine the effect of intervention of red ginger jelly compress on the degree of pain and inflammatory status of clients Arthritis Gout in the work area of Rijali City Health Center Ambon
Method: the research design used in this study was Experimental with a randomized Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design approach. The sample in this study amounted to 36 people with technique Simple Random Sampling. Measuring the degree of pain using the Numerical Rating Scale and inflammatory status using an observation sheet. Experiment is done by giving jelly ginger compress with a dose of 4% for 20 minutes 2 times in 3 days.
Results: in thepaired t-test the averagedifference in degrees of pain pre and post jelly ginger compress was 2.722 with a standard deviation of 0.548 ρ = 0.001 while the difference in imflamation status with wilcoxon test MR 9,00, SR 153,00, ρ< 0,001.
Conclusion: administration of red ginger jelly compress with a dose of 4% for 20 minutes 2 times in 3 days can reduce the degree of pain and imflamation status in gout Arthritis clients. It is recommended that arthritis gout clients can use ginger jelly compress as an action to reduce pain complaints.
