Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed malignancy in women. In radiotherapy the positioning of patients and the use of fixation devices are very important, Thermoplastic mask is one of the tools to help patients not move when radiation therapy is carried out. But on the implementation of breast cancer irradiation at Radiotherapy Installation Unit Dr. RSUP Kariadi Semarang not using thermoplastic masks but using immobilization equipment and fixation of breast board. The aim of the study was to obtain information on radiotherapy radiation procedures in breast cancer patients in the radiotherapy unit radiological installation rsup dr. kariadi semarang by using a fixation tool breast board.
This study is a qualitative study with case-study approach. object of this study is breast cancer patients. Research subjects is Oncologists, Medical Physicists and Radiographers Data is collected by observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis was carried out interactively by the models of Milles and Huberman.
The results showed that radiotherapy radiation procedures in breast cancer patients at Radiotherapy Installation Unit Dr. RSUP Kariadi Semarang was carried out by the simulation stage, calculation of TPS, Verification and Radiation. Radiotherapy irradiation of breast cancer patients is carried out in 4 directions, namely the mediolateral, lateromedial, supraclavicular and axillary positions. fixation tool used for radiation radiotherapy for breast cancer patients is breast board. accuracy of the use of breast board on radiation of breast cancer radiotherapy includes the limits and shifts within the tolerance limit.
