ASUHAN KEPERAWATAN PASIEN KANKER PAYUDARA DENGAN FOKUS STUDI GANGGUAN GAMBARAN DIRI DI RSUD TUGUREJO SEMARANG

Background - In the case of breast cancer in Central Java in 2012 there were 4,206
cases or 37.09% of all cancer events. Cancer cases in 2010 in the city of Semarang
there were 2,349 breast cancer cases from all the cancer incidence that occurred,
which was 11,682 cases. Broadly speaking, the management of breast cancer is
divided into two, namely local therapy and systemic therapy. Breast cancer and its
treatment have both physical and psychological effects. The physical effects of
nausea, hair loss due to chemotherapy, other finger damage due to radiation
therapy, lymphedema and pain in the shoulders and arms after surgery. While the
psychological impact of fear of cancer, the threat to self-image, sexuality,
intimacy of relationships and conflict in decision making related to treatment
options to be chosen. Surgical removal of the breast is the main problem in the
problem of self-image disorders due to loss of body parts, scar tissue, or changes
in the skin that affect the patient's vitality, self-actualization, social function,
physical function and quality of life.
Objective - This study aims to determine the effect of interventions on breast
cancer patients who experience impaired self-image in the Kenanga room at
Tugurejo Regional Hospital Semarang.
Method - The type of research used is quasi-experimental (Quasy Experiment)
with a pre-test-post-test design.
Results - After implementing nursing care to overcome body image disorders for
3 days, there was an increase in self-image scores from patient 1 and patient 2,
patients 1 from 110 (low category) to 199 (high category) and patients 2 from
score 99 (category low) to 208 (high category)
