Based on observations in Radiotherapy Unit of Hospital Dr. Kariadi Semarang are externally patients after radiation, can not be taken brakhiterapi but given additional external radiation (booster) using 3D-CRT technique using a Linear Accelerator. This research was conducted at the Hospital Dr Radiotherapy unit Kariadi Semarang in order to determine the procedures, techniques and reasons for choosing a booster radiotherapy techniques of 3D-CRT after whole pelvic radiation in patients with cervical cancer that can not be done brakhiterapi.
The type of research done in this paper is a qualitative descriptive study with case study approach, by observation, interview, and documentation. The data obtained were processed and examined data quotations with appropriate references to discuss the existing problems. The conclusion drawn from these results.
The results showed that booster radiotherapy techniques of 3D-CRT after whole pelvic radiation in patients with cervical cancer in the department of Radiotherapy unit Dr. Kariadi Semarang done because the patient did not receive brakhiterapi action. Cervical cancer patients have obtained prior external radiation at a dose of 50 Gy, followed by the addition of external radiation at a dose of 20 Gy, fractionation 2 Gy/day. Reasons been Radiotherapy Techniques 3D-CRT in the case of cervical booster in Hospital Dr. Kariadi Semarang is to provide a homogenous dose to the target tumor and minimal dose to the organs at risk in the vicinity
