Background : There are many variations of Time Echo (TE) value used in the lumbar MRI sequence of sagital on Short Tau Inversion Recovery (STIR), according to Moeller (2010) the TE values used are 30-60 ms, according to Westbrook (2014) TE values used is more than 60 ms, whereas in Panti Rapih Hospital Yogyakarta TE value used is 39 ms. The aim of this research is to know the difference of anatomical information of MRI lumbar sagital on STIR sequence with TE variation and to find out the optimal TE value in giving anatomical information MRI lumbar sagital on Short Tau Inversion Recovery (STIR) sequence.
Methods : This research was conducted at Panti Rapih Hospital Yogyakarta by varying the TE values i.e 30 ms, 60 ms and 90 ms on the STIR sequence of sagital to 10 patients. Controlled variables in this study are TR, TI, FOV, Slice thicknes, NEX, Flip angle and Bandwith. The samples in this study were male or female between the ages of 50-60 years, has a weight of 50-60 kg, and had a history of lumbar pain or disease with an indication of HNP. The results of the image were assessed by 2 respondents Radiologists, including Corpus vertebra, Discus intervertebralis, Medula spinalis, Cerebro Spinal Fluid (CSF) dan Ligamentum flafum. Data from 2 Respondents tested with Kappa then continued with Friedman test.
Results : The results showed that there was a difference of MRI lumbar anatomical information on the sagital sequence of STIR with variations of TE values of 30 ms, 60 ms and 90 ms on the anatomy of Corpus vertebra, Discus intervertebralis, Medula spinalis, Cerebro Spinal Fluid (CSF) dan Ligamentum flafum that has a value of p-value of 0.02 (p
