Surgical procedur cause of various respons including psychological or anxiety responses. Preoperative anxiety in patients with caesarean section who will undergo programmed anesthesia and surgical procedures. To overcome anxiety can be done non-pharmacological action namely Benson relaxation technique. Based on the data recap of patients who performed Caesarean section surgery in the Central Surgical Installation of Panti Hospital in Citarum Semarang City in the last 6 months (January - June 2018) there were 724 patients with an average of approximately 121 patients per month. The purpose of this case study is to apply the Benson relaxation technique in reducing the preoperative anxiety level in Caesarean section patients in the Central Surgical Installation of Panti Wilasa Citarum Hospital in Semarang City, using an instrument to measure anxiety scale, namely a questionnaire that refers to the Amsterdam Preoperative Anxiety And Information Scale (APAIS ) according to Moerman, et.al., (1996) in Firdaus (2014). The method used is a case study by managing 4 respondents with preoperative anxiety nursing problems using the nursing process approach which includes assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation and evaluation with the chosen intervention namely Benson relaxation technique.
