One of the Magnetic Resonance Angiography(MRA) techniques is Phase Contrast. To optimize the images in MRA Phase Contrast is used velocity encoding technique (VENC) which will compensate the velocity of blood vessels by controlling the amplitude. One who affecting the velocity of blood vessels is hypertension. Hypertention causes oxygen supply and nutrients carried by the blood is inhibited to the body tissues that need it. The purpose of this study is to determine the difference image quality magnetic resonance angiography (mra) brain phase contrast hypertention patients on velocity encoding (VENC) variation and determine the optimum quality magnetic resonance angiography (mra) brain phase contrast hypertention patient on velocity encoding (VENC) variation.
This research is experimental research. It is conducted with MRI 1.5 Tesla at RS Santo Borromeus Bandung. Its data were 27 images of MRA Brain Phase Contrast from 9 hypertension patients (139-176 mmHg) and 3 variations of VENC (50,60,70). The result of the images are measured by ROI(regions of interest) to get SNR (signal to noise ratio) and CNR (contrast noise to ratio) value, ROI measure at Middle Cerebral region A, Anterior Cerebral A, Posterior Cerebral A, Internal carotid, Basiler A than obtained signal average to be compared with ROI at background (standard deviation noise) to get SNR and reduce the SNR of the organ with adjacent the organs to get CNR. The result of average organ called brain. Data analysis was measured by anova test to determine the different and friedman to determine the optimum on VENC variation on SNR and CNR.
The results of study anova explain that there are difference image quality SNR MRA Brain Phase Contrats on VENC variation with p value 0,0001 and no different different image quality CNR MRA Brain Phase Contrats on VENC variation with p value 0,286. The result of study friedman explain that the optimum image quality SNR and CNR on 70 VENC.
