HUBUNGAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN MASYARAKAT TENTANG GIGI IMPAKSI TERHADAP MOTIVASI UNTUK BERKUNJUNG KE POLI BEDAH MULUT RSUD PROF.DR.MARGONO SOEKARJO PURWOKERTO TAHUN 2017

Lack of public knowledge about dental impaction may affect the motivation to visit dental and oral services. Impact teeth can be defined as complete eruption failures to the normal functional position of one tooth in normal time due to lack of space in the dental arch. Motivation is an impulse from within a person that causes the person to perform certain activities in order to achieve a goal. The purpose of this research is to know the correlation between the level of public knowledge about dental impaction toward motivation to visit the Mouth Surgery of Prof.Dr.Margono Soekarjo Hospital Purwokerto.
The type of research used is descriptive quantitative, with cross sectional approach. The population in this study is as many as 294 people. The subjects of the study were people with dental impaction who visited the Mouth Surgery of RSUD Prof.Dr.Margono Soekarjo on March 15, 2017, March 18, 2017 and March 27, 2017. Sampling technique using accidental sampling technique. The study was conducted by distributing questionnaires to impaction dental patients. The results were analyzed using cross tabulation.
The result of this research is known that there is a tendency of correlation between knowledge of society about dental impaction toward motivation to visit the Mouth Surgery. Respondent's knowledge about dental impaction that is in enough category as many as 30 respondents (61%) and community motivation to visit the Mouth Surgery all respondents have strong motivation. The result of cross tabulation is 31 respondents (63%) in critical knowledge enough with strong motivation. Suggestions in this study need to be counseled to improve the level of knowledge about dental impaction and need to do further research on other factors that affect the motivation of dental impaction patients visit to dental and oral services.
