Hypercholesterolemia is a condition of increasing total cholesterol in the blood, which is the cause of cardiovascular disease, especially coronary heart disease. The main factors that affect the incidence of hypercholesterolemia disease is diet. The purpose of this scientific paper is to carry out family nursing care in two families whose family members have hypercholesterolaemia and they have less knowledge about hypercholesterolemia diet. The authors measure the level of client knowledge by using the Knowledge Level Questionnaire on Hypercholesterolemia Diet, which has three categories that are good, sufficient and less. The results of the assessment indicate that client I has sufficient level of knowledge (score = 10), while client 2 has less knowledge level (score = 5) The nursing plan is focused on increasing the family knowledge level about hypercholesterolemia diet through health education and demonstration. The results of nursing actions performed over two weeks, the level of family knowledge about dietary hypercholesterolemia has increased. This is evidenced by increasing the score on both clients ie client 1 from 10 (sufficient) to 14 (good), client 2 from 5 (less) to 9 (sufficient). The difference between the two clients occurs due to several factors, including: age, education, experience, occupation and information obtained. Advice to health providers in order to improve services in patients with hypercholesterolemia by providing counseling to clients and families.
