Pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum are physiological processes. During these process, some women experience health process that can increase the amount of morbidity and mortality of the mother or the baby. MMR and IMR in Indonesia are still high compared with other countries. According to the Indonesian Ministry of Health statement, AKI in Indonesia in 2015 was 359/100.000 life-births and neonatal was 14/1000 life-births.
This final project writing is in the form of a case studying using obstetric management approach using seven steps of Varney and SOAP documentation.
The result of this final project obtained a diagnosis of Mrs. K G2P1A0 age of 23 years old 38 weeks gestation with physiological pregnant.
There was a gap during pregnancy. It was the amount of Fe tablet given was less than 90 tablet and the mother only got blood hemoglobin checkup once. The childbirth care had not been carried out in accordance with the 58 steps of APN, such as there was no IMD as well as the use jarit to dry the baby. During postpartum period, there was a gap. It was the amount of Fe tablet given was less than 40 tablets.
The conclusion of this study is on the application of midwifery care. There is a gap between theory and practice of midwifery care in reality. Midwives should further improve the quality of service by providing midwifery care in accordance with the theory.
