Parallel imaging is a time reduction technique that uses phased array coil. Phased array coil measures and processes the signal from a piece, then combines pieces to form an image of an area larger than anatomy. Commonly used parallel imaging techniques, one of which is sensitivity encoding or SENSE. This study is about the difference in the quality of Lumbar MRI images in sagittal T1WI TSE sequences with and without the use of sensitivity encoding (SENSE) in the case of hernia nucleus pulposus (HNP). The purpose of this study was to determine differences in image quality (SNR), anatomic information and better image quality and anatomic information. Lumbar MRI of sagittal slice T1WI TSE sequence with and without the use of sensitivity encoding (SENSE) in the case of hernia nucleus pulposus (HNP).
The type of research is quantitative with an experimental approach, the study was conducted at Dr.Saiful Anwar Malang Hospital. The study was taken from Lumbar MRI examination in 9 patients with predetermined exclusion and inclusion criteria performed sagittal T1WI TSE sequences with and without the use of sensitivity encoding (SENSE) in the case of hernia nucleus pulposus (HNP). Image assessment is carried out by 2 respondents. Data analysis used paired T test and Wilcoxon test.
The results showed that there was a difference in the quality of Lumbar MRI images of sagittal T1WI TSE sequences with and without the use of sensitivity encoding (SENSE) in the case of hernia nucleus pulposus (HNP) with a significance value of 0.001 (
