TATA LAKSANA RADIOTERAPI EKSTERNAL PADA KARSINOMA SERVIKS MENGGUNAKAN LINAC TEKNIK 3D CONFORMAL RADIATION THERAPY DI UNIT RADIOTERAPI RUMAH SAKIT KEN SARAS
XMLExternal beam radiotherapy techniques in cervical carcinoma with 3D Conformal Radiation Therapy techniques in radiotherapy Unit at Ken Saras Hospital are generally done by using 6 fields (box system) technique which are superior AP, inferior AP, superior PA, inferior PA, right lateral and left lateral without standard or individual blocks. According to Susworo (2007), Rasjidi (2011), Maesadji (2011), External beam radiation in cervical cancer are commonly done by using 2D technique (AP-PA) or 3D CRT technique. The 3D technique aims to deliver precise optimal dose (homogeneous) according to the tumor shape and to minimalize complication of surrounding area. The purpose of this study was to describe the management of external radiotherapy on cervical carcinoma using LINAC 3D CRT technique in radiotherapy Unit at ken Saras Hospital.
The type of research is a qualitative descriptive research with case study approach. The author conducted subjects of this study are 3 radiation therapy technologists, 1 radiation oncologist, 2 medical physicists. The author retrieved collected data such as radiographs or simulator photos, treatment planning system (TPS) data, radiation data and medical records. Data was then processed using transcript interview, reduction, categorization table, and open coding system.
Based on observations and interviews, the result of this study are the performed procedure include patient examination, determination of irradiation field (CT Simulator, TPS irradiation planning, field verificaton) and external radiation treatment. The whole pelvic radiation box system consists of superior AP, inferior AP, superior PA, inferior PA, right lateral / 270°, left lateral / 90° (6 fields) where radiation planning is calculated based on CT 3D Simulator and Treatment Planning System (TPS). This radiation planning is known as 3D Conformal Radiation Therapy 3D CRT.
