ANALISIS PENANGANAN KEGAWATDARURATAN NUKLIR PADA PESAWAT TELETERAPI COBALT-60 DI UNIT RADIOTERAPI RSUP Dr.KARIADI SEMARANG
XMLBackground: Nuclear and radiation accidents are unplanned events including operation errors, equipment malfunction or other events that can have a radiation effect, radiation exposure conditions and or contamination that exceeds safety limits. This study aims to determine the cause of the occurrence of source position error and reporting mechanism regarding the handling of nuclear emergency position position error on the Cobalt-60 teleterapace at Radiotherapy Unit Dr.Kariadi Hospital Semarang.
Method: This type of research is a qualitative research with a case study approach. This research was conducted at the Radiotherapy Unit of RSUP Dr. Kariadi Semarang. The method of data collection is done by studying documentation and conducting Focus Group Discussions (FGD). Research subjects in the preparation of this thesis involved Radiation Protection Officers (PPR), medical physicists and therapeutic radiographers. Data analysis used in this study is an interactive model with collective data stages, data reduction and conclusions.
Conclusion: Handling emergency nuclear source position error on Cobalt-60 teleterapi aircraft includes ensuring the position of radioactive sources, rescuing patients, reporting events to PPR officers for further handling, recording and reporting. The results of handling the source position error event are only reported to the hospital management because it has been handled internally with a short time so that the Cobalt-60 teleterapi aircraft can be reused.
