PERBEDAAN SKOR INDEKS PLAK PADA SISWA KELAS V SEBELUM DAN SESUDAH DILAKUKAN PENYULUHAN DENGAN MEDIA POWERPOINT DAN STUDI MODEL DI SD NEGERI UNGARAN 01

One of the causes of caries is plaque, where plaque is a soft and sticky layer that attaches to the
teeth where bacteria gather. Efforts to overcome caries problems can be done by counseling using media
such as using PowerPoint media and model studies. Aim this research to find out the difference in plaque
index scores before and after counseling with PowerPoint media and model studies on fifth grade
students at Ungaran 01 Public Elementary School.
This study used methods experimental research with pre-test and post-test groups. The sample in
this study amounted to 60 samples randomly. Data analysis was performed using the Paired Sample Ttest
to determine differences in plaque index scores before and after treatment, to determine differences in
effectiveness between PowerPoint media and study models used Independent Sample T-test.
The results showed that there were differences in plaque index scores before and after
counseling with PowerPoint media and study media models, where model media studies were more
effective in decreasing plaque index scores.
Based on the results of the above research, the community can use media study models in
conducting education health to the community, especially dental and oral health.
