SABUN MINYAK BUAH MERAH (PANDANUS CONOIDEUS LAM) SEBAGAI WOUND CLEANSING TERHADAP PENYEMBUHAN LUKA DAN JUMLAH KOLONI BAKTERI PASIEN ULKUS DIABETIKUM GRADE II DI KLINIK GRIYA WOUND CARE KUDUS
XMLBackground: Diabetic ulcer is one of the most serious and crippling complications
of diabetes mellitus (DM) that requires holistic management, one of them with
wound care. Wound care consists of cleansing, debridement, and dressing stages.
Diabetic ulcers require a cleansing agent that has high antibacterial properties. Red
fruit oil contains tocopherol, beta-carotene, alpha-tocopherol, oleic acid, linoleic
acid, dekanoate, carotenoids, and high antioxidant and antibacterial substances.
Purpose: This study aims to find the right wound cleansing soap that can kill
bacteria to overcome the problem of wound infection.
Method: Quasy Eksprimental with pre test test of non-equivalent control group
design.. Cleansing the wound with a NaCl 0.9% solution and 10% red fruit oil soap
with a pH of 5.74 will be compared to its effectiveness by cleansing the wound using
only NaCl 0.9% solution. The bacterial colony was measured and the bacteria were
seen using swab method and wound healing was measured using BWAT instrument.
Intervention for 14 days with observation every 3 days. Data was processed by
repeated measure test for wound healing score variable and Mann Whitney and post
hoc Wilcoxon test for bacterial colony variable
Results: There was no difference in the mean number of bacterial colonies in the
wound cleansing with NaCl 0.9% and red fruit oil soap 10% with pH 5.74 and the
wound by using NaCl 0.9% (p> 0.05). In the intervention group the average number
of colonies until day 14 decreased by 3.14x106 and in the control group as much as
1.40x106. For wound healing scores in each group significantly decreased on each
measurement for 14 days.
Conclusion: 0.9% NaCl liquid and 10% red fruit oil soap can be used as an
alternative cleansing treatment for wound ulcer grade II ulcer patients and proven to
reduce the number of bacterial colonies.
Keywords: diabetic ulcers, red fruit oil soap, 0.9% NaCl solution, wound cleansing.
