ABSTRACT
Pediatric chest radiographic examination procedures with clinical Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever in the Radiology Installation of Sunan Kalijaga Demak using the projection of Right Lateral Decubitus (RLD). The aim of this study was to find out the pediatric radiographs of chest radiographic procedures clinically for dengue hemorrhagic fever, to find out the reason for immobilization used only by parents in the RLD projection, and to find out the reason the patient was tilted for 10 minutes before exposure.
This type of research is qualitative with a case study approach. This research was conducted by observation, interviews, in-depth with radiographers, radiologists, and sending doctors and documentation. Furthermore, processing and data analysis used in writing scientific papers is a descriptive analysis. The collected data is analyzed by the interactive method.
The results showed that pediatric chest radiographic examination with clinical dengue hemorrhagic fever in the Radiology Installation of Sunan Kalijaga Hospital Demak only used the projection of Right Lateral Decubitus (RLD). The reason for immobilization that is used for chest radiographic examination of RLD projection is only by the parents because by holding parents the patient will feel comfortable and not move much at the time of examination because of the time needed when the sloping position is not for a moment. The reason for the patient is tilted for 10 minutes before exposure because the pleural fluid falls down to occupy the lower space of the lungs when tilting to the right. In accordance with the law of gravity, wait for 10 minutes so that when the liquid has fallen into the lower chambers of the lungs it will be easy to calculate the value of Pleural Effusion Index (PEI).
