Chronic Kidney Disease patients need replacement therapy for kidney function to maintain their survival, one of which is hemodialysis therapy. The hemodialysis process requires vascular access which will be associated with a hemodialysis machine. One of them is an artervenous fistula (AV Shunt). The use of arterivenous fistula requires a fairly large needle insertion which will cause a pain sensation. Efforts to deal with pain need to be done so that patients can accept the procedure properly and maintain their quality of life. One of the non-pharmacological actions that can be done to reduce pain during needle puncture is to use cold compresses. This Final-Ners Scientific Writing (KIA-N) aims to conduct an analysis of the cases under management in CKD patients with cold compress interventions to reduce pain intensity in patients with acute pain problems in the Hemodialisa Room at RSUD Salatiga. The design of the solution offered is to use a cold compress intervention in the L1-4 ipsilateral hand. The research design uses a case study with a qualitative research approach. The research population was 90 respondents, with a sample of 2 respondents. Time of implementation on May 27 to June 15, 2019 with research tools using PNRS instruments. The results showed a change in the scale of PNRS and the quality of pain in two respondents, so it can be concluded that there was a decrease in pain from the influence of the intervention of the cold compress given.
