Background: Medical records are confidential documents belonging to patients that can only be issued based on the authority of the hospital that is authorized to parties who often need medical record information such as health insurance. In providing reimbursement of health costs, insurance will usually require medical data from patients to the hospital, so the release of medical information is one of the most important requirements. The release of information requests for insurance claims requires a relatively long time. This results in patients complaining about the health costs they incur while waiting for insurance claims. Based on the explanation above, it is the basis for the researchers to choose the research topic with the title of Review of the Implementation of Release of Medical Information with Insurance Claims in UPT Dr. M. Ashari Hospital Pemalang.
Objective: Describe the implementation of the release of medical information with insurance claims in the UPT Dr. M. Ashari Hospital Pemalang
Method: This study used a qualitative descriptive method with a study research plan (n = 92). Data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation studies.
Results: Flow of release of medical information for insurance purposes at the UPT. Dr. M. Ashari Hospital Pemalang starts from the letter of entry to the Administration /Secretariat by filling out the request form or power of attorney not in accordance with the SPO. In carrying out the release of information for insurance purposes, it was also found that the complete form of the request was not yet complete, such as the absence of information on family relations and the requesting signature. However, in the compliance aspect, as many as 100% of employees are obedient in carrying out SPO filling in the release of medical information
Conclusion: Flow of release of medical information for insurance purposes at UPT. Dr. Hospital M. Ashari Pemalang is not in accordance with the Medical Record Information Release SPO. It is expected that all the components responsible for releasing information on the patient's record for insurance claims can work according to the SPO set by the UPT. Dr. Hospital M. Ashari Pemalang
