EKSTRAK DAUN TORBANGUN ( COLEUS AMBOINICUS L) SEBAGAI ALTERNATIF PENINGKATAN PRODUKSI ASI DAN HORMON PROLAKTIN PADA IBU NIFAS NORMAL (Studi di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Bergas Kabupaten Semarang)

Background: There are many causes of failure in exclusive breastfeeding, one of that the feeling of insufficient breast milk procuction which can inhibits the breasfeeding activity. Torbangun leaf (Coleus amboinicus L) is an alternative plant that has a function as lactagogum which can increase the secretion and breast milk production.
Objective: This study aims to prove torbangun (Coleus amboinicus Lour) leaves extract as an alternative to increase breast milk production and prolactin hormone level among Normal Postpartum women in the work area of Bergas Community Health Center Semarang District.
Methods : This study method used here was true experiment. The study design used was pretest and post test control group design. The samples were 32 normal postpartum woman divided equally in the control group and intervention group given torbangun (Coleus amboinicus Lour) leaves exytact @500mg 3 times a day for 14 days according to the standard of midwifery midwifery care and group control given vitamin supplements according to the standard of midwifery midwifery care. The analysis used here were univariate analysis using homogeneity test and bivariate analysis using paired sample test with t-test and Man Whitey and unpaired sample test using Repeated Anova test and Wilcoxon test.
Results : The mean of prolactin hormone, infant weight, urination among infants, defecation among, and infants sleep duration in the control and treatment groups are 131,06 ng/ml and 152,69 ng/ml (pvalue =0,03), 2980 gram and 3229,69 gram (pvalue=0,000), 3,00 times/day and 3,56 times/day (pvalue =0,019), 8,81 times/day and 9,44 times/day (pvalue= 0,043), 10,94 times/day dan 11,63 times/day (pvalue=0,003) (
