EKSTRAK BAYAM MERAH SEBAGAI UPAYA MENINGKATKAN STATUS ANEMIA IBU HAMIL TRIMESTER 2 (Studi di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Kota Semarang)

Background: Hemodilusi in the Second-Trimester of pregnant women increased from 10 weeks to 32 weeks, if not dealt with properly mother will experience severe anemia. The efforts of the Government are doing to overcome iron deficiency anemia in pregnant women is to allot of iron tablets 90 consecutive days during pregnancy, but the effort did still not optimally so that the need for complementary therapy that is administering the Amaranthus Red Extract.
Objective: The effectiveness of spinach red boosts efforts as the status of Anemia in pregnant women second-trimester.
Method: This type of research using the quasy experiment with pretest posttest with control group design with independent variable is the awarding of the Red amaranthus extracts in the form of tea with 1.4 grams dose for 10 days and the dependent variable is the level of hemoglobin, erythrocytes and hematokrit. The samples in this study 26 respondents.
Results: The awarding of the Red amaranthus extract on pregnant women second-trimester effect on increased levels of hemoglobin with the value p-value 0.000 (< 0.005). Red spinach amaranthus on granting pregnant women second-trimester effect on increased levels of p-value hematokrit value 0.000 (< 0.005). Red amaranthus extract on granting pregnant women second-trimester effect on increasing the number of erythrocytes with value p-value 0.000 (< 0.005).
Conclusion: Red Amaranthus Extract with a dose of 1.4 grams given simultaneously with Fe Tablets in pregnant women second-trimester for 10 effectively to increased levels of Hemoglobin, Erythrocytes and Hematokrit.
