EFEKTIVITAS EKSTRAK DAUN MIANA (Coleus Scutellarioides Lamiaceae Benth) TERHADAP PENYEMBUHAN LUKA PERINEUM RUPTURE PADA IBU NIFAS

Background: The prevalence of perineal laceration in Indonesia is 75% of normal deliveries. The condition of the perineal wound during childbirth which is always moist due to the lokhea is a fertile place for bacterial growth so that infection is easy to occur. Currently the broadly used antiseptic on perineal wound is 10% povidone iodine that has side effects including allergies, so it is necessary to study herbal potential to prevent infection.
Objective: To prove the effectiveness of 80% miana leaves extract on the healing of perineal laceration and decrease in the number of coccus bacteria on perineal laceration compared to 10% povidone iodine.
Method: Quasi experiment, with purposive sampling technique, pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects were 38 postpartum women with second degree perineal laceration, assigned into 2 groups namely the intervention group who received 80% miana leaves extract and the control group who received 10% povidone iodine. Variables were measured using the REEDA scale on day 1, 3, 5 and day 7 as well as bacterial examination with gram stain quantification on day 3 and day 7. Study Results: 80% Miana leaves extract given to the intervention group was effective for the healing process of perineal laceration with a REEDA scale of 0 which meant that the wound healing was good on the day 5 and day 7. Whereas in the control group the score was
