Background A febrile seizure is a seizure that occurs due to a rise in body temperature above 38ºC without central nervous system infection or electrolyte disturbance in children older than one month, without prior seizure seizure history. Spasms in children are generally provoked by somatic abnormalities from outside the brain that are high fever, infection, syncope, head trauma, hypoxia, poisoning, and cardiac arrhythmias. From the results of preliminary studies conducted by researchers in getting data on the number of febrile seizures that occur in the medical record in 2018 january - March in RSUD Tugurejo Semarang as many as 23 children. Objectives Describe the fulfillment of safety needs: prevention of injury in toddler children with febrile seizures in accordance with the nursing process. The method used is descriptive research method that aims to describe events or nursing phenomena associated with febrile seizures in children. The results show that warm compresses can help reduce the risk of injury to children with febrile seizures, this is demonstrated by compressing children with warm water is very effective to lower the temperature of the child so that no recurring seizures that may engage the risk of injury to the patient, the child's temperature to normal 36 ℃, the child does not get injured
Conclusion that can be concluded that individual response of each child to warm compress almost same. This is evidenced from the results of both clients showed a change in temperature in the normal range of 36 ℃
Advice on approaches to patients and families can encourage more cooperative patients and families.
