One of the main problems of oral health in Indonesian society is cavities. The teeth that are easily attacked by caries are the oldest teeth. Dental caries (rampan caries) occurs very rapidly, spreads widely and thoroughly so rapidly on the pulp. Factors that cause caries rampan include behavioral factors, health services, environment and descent. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that cause high caries rampans in pre-school children in Aisyiyah TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal II (ABA 02) Ungaran Regency Semarang age 4-6 years.
This research uses quantitative descriptive method with case control design. The sample in this study were 35 samples consisting of 20 as case group and 15 as control group, taken by purposive sampling. Data analysis was done by bivariate analysis. To know the risk factor used Odd Ratio test.
The results of statistical tests were obtained (OR = 12,071), attitudes (OR = 42,000), OR = 19,500), health care (OR = 5.107), environment (OR = 6,000) and offspring (OR = 2,444). The result can be concluded that the factors of knowledge, attitude, action, health service, environment and heredity are risk factors of caries rampan. It is recommended for all people especially old people to always pay attention to dental and mouth health of children, with the aim to avoid dental and mouth disease.
