HUBUNGAN PERILAKU MENGGOSOK GIGI TERHADAP STATUS KESEHATAN PERIODONTAL DI POSYANDU LANSIA WILAYAH UPTD PUSKESMAS JATIBOGOR KABUPATEN TEGAL

The Periodontal disease gets worse with age because it is influenced by physiological and pathological factors. At the age of 40-50 years have also occurred retraction or decreased gums and buds so that leftover food is more difficult to be cleaned will be factors that cause periodontal disease. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of the behavior of brushing their teeth to periodontal health status in elderly Posyandu UPTD Regional Health Center Jatibogor Tegal.
This research used analytic survey with an approach cross -sectionals. The sample in this study amounted to 32 samples, taken with technique. purposive sampling Variable influences consist of knowledge, attitude, and action of brushing your teeth. Variable knowledge and action are measured with a questionnaire startup. While the attitude variables were measured using a questionnaire with scale. Likert Data was analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis. To determine the relationship between independent variables and the dependent variable used Kendall Tautest.
The results showed knowledge with periodontal health status(p-Value = 0.005), attitude with periodontal health status(p-Value = 0.001), the variable action with periodontal health status(p-Value = 0.003).
The conclusions of this study are the relationship between the behavior of brushing their teeth to periodontal health status in elderly Posyandu UPTD Regional Health Center Jatibogor Tegal. Health workers are expected to provide education on the procedures to brush their teeth.
