The slice thickness is an important parameter on the MRI Brain examination. Slice thickness is the time it takes to process the data to develop a slice body tissue. If The slice thickness incresingly chapter enlarges, the greater ability to break the smaller structure of many visible anatomical information. The objective of the study was to measure the slice thickness on the anatomical information of Brain MRI examination on the weighted susceptibility sequence (SWI) axial slice with cerebrovascular accident (CVA) case and to determine the best slice thickness value that can provide optimal anatomical information on brain MRI examination in sequence susceptibility weighted imaging (SWI) axial slice with cerebrovascular accident (CVA) cases.
The type of this research is quantitative research with experimental approach. The research was conducted by PHILIPS "ingenia" 3 Tesla at Radiology Installation of Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang, data of data volume from 8 patient as sample and given 5 slice thickness variation. The variation of thickness is 1.3 mm, 2 mm, 3 mm, 4 mm, and 5 mm. Assessment of anatomical information was assisted by three respondents namely radilogical specialists. Data analysis was done by simple linear regression test and friedman mean rank test.
The results of this study indicate that there is a significant difference in the thickness of the slice to the anatomical information of MRI brain examination on the susceptibility weighted sequence (SWI) of the axial piece to the cerebrovascular accident (CVA) case.
