PERILAKU MENGKONSUMSI MAKANAN KARIOGENIK DENGAN STATUS KARIES GIGI PADA ANAK SDN BENDAN NGISOR KOTA SEMARANG TAHUN 2018

Cariogenic food is one of the main factors causing dental caries in addition to microorganisms, teeth and time. The behavior of consuming a large number of cariogenic foods with a more frequent frequency will increase the occurrence of caries. This study aims to determine the relationship behavior of cariogenic foods with dental caries status in children SDN Bendan Ngisor Semarang City in 2018.
This research is analytic observational with cross sectional design. Research location at SDN Bendan Ngisor. Samples were taken in total sampling of 70 respondents. All respondents filled out questionnaires about the behavior, then the respondents checked their caries. Data analysis was analyzed by Chi-square test.
The results showed good knowledge as much as 37 respondents (52.9%), good attitude as much as 39 respondents (55,7%), bad actions counted 43 respondents (61,4%), low DMF-T caries status 44 respondents (62.9%). Meanwhile, the chi-square analysis of knowledge consumed cariogenic foods with DMF-T caries status (p = 0.064), the attitude of cariogenic foods with DMF-T caries status (p = 0.809), the action of cariogenic foods with DMF-T caries status (p = 0,000).
The conclusion is that not all aspects of cariogenic dietary behavior are related to dental caries status, only the action of consuming cariogenic foods related to dental caries status, while knowledge and attitude of consuming cariogenic food is not related to dental caries status. Advice to parents to always guide, supervise and teach children to maintain oral health in order to avoid dental caries.
