PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN GADGET TERHADAP GANGGUAN EMOSI DAN PERILAKU ANAK PRASEKOLAH DI PAUD BUKIT AKSARA KOTA SEMARANG

Gadget is the result of technological development that created in small devices whose usage is increasing. The gadget usage is one of the causes of emotional and behavioral disorders. Preschool age is called the golden age because it undergoes many changes both physically and mentally. Emotional and behavioral disorders are serious problems in child development.
Data obtained from a preliminary study at Bukit Aksara Preschool shows that all preschool children use gadget. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of gadget usage on emotional and behavioral disorders of preschoolers in Bukit Aksara Preschool.
The type of research using observational analytic with cross sectional research design. The population of this study is all parents / student guardians of children who use gadget, as many as 72 people. The sampling method using accidental sampling with sample size 61 respondents. The data collected are characteristics of subject and respondents, gadget usage using Gadget Usage Questionnaires and emotional and behavioral disorders using Strenghts and Difficulties Questionnaire. The statistical test using fisher exact test.
The result of the research shows that there is an effect of application type to emotional and behavioral disorder of children with p value 0.002, whereas there are no effect of duration and intensity of gadget usage to emotional and behavioral disorder of children with p value 0.562 and 0.145 respectively.
From the results of this study, parents expected to be wiser in providing technology to children.
