Dental Hygiene of MI Ma'arif Tuntang students are in medium category, some students have caries in their oral cavity. The purpose of this study is to describe the knowledge of parents about dental hygiene to the child's actions in brushing teeth. Benefits of this research is able to provide information and motivate parents of students to be able to understand about oral hygiene.
The type of this research is descriptive quantitative with cross-sectional approach, the number of popuasi student of MI Ma'arif Tuntang as many as 129 students, the sample used by students of grade 2 and 3 are 38 students. Instrument used in this research is questionnaire and observation sheet. Data analysis is presented in the form of frequency distribution and cross tabulation.
The results of this study show that most of the knowledge of parents is enough with the child's actions brushing teeth less. The conclusion is that parents' knowledge contributes to the actions of children in brushing their teeth. Parents are expected to monitor the child in the act of brushing his teeth and it is expected the school to hold a toothbrush program together at school.
