Short message service (SMS) is considered to have the potential to improve people's knowledge, so it can affect a person's behavior changes due to efficiency, low cost, and the ability to disseminate information to the health of the population inaccessible.
The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of the mother SMS participation with knowledge of pregnant women about prenatal care. The research was conducted in the working area of Puskesmas Gubug I Grobogan. The study using study cross sectional design. The population in this study were pregnant women second and third trimester who have never been pregnant mothers attend classes. The sampling technique used is total sampling with a sample of 55 pregnant women. The instrument used was a questionnaire knowledge of prenatal care has valid and reliable. The analysis used were univariate and bivariate analysis using chi square test.
The results of this study are the majority of respondents in the category of healthy reproductive age as much as 70.9%, has the parity status multipara 76.4%, secondary education as much as 56.4%, and respondents who work as much as 58.2%. The results of bivariate analysis showed that there is a significant relationship between mothers SMS participation to knowledge about prenatal care of pregnant women with the result p value 0,0001
