PENGARUH PEMBERIAN EKSTRAK RIMPANG TEMULAWAK (Curcuma Xanthorrhiza Roxb) TERHADAP PENINGKATAN PRODUKSI ASI PADA IBU POSTPARTUM (Studi di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Ambarawa Kabupaten Semarang)

Background : A major factor inhibiting breastfeeding is due to less milk production is the dominant factor that needs to be addressed. If the milk production well then other factors will be easily handled. In an effort to get the natural ingredients that may be used to overcome the problems of milk production is the extract of curcuma xanthorrhiza roxb.
Interest Survey : Explain the effect of extract curcuma xanthorrhiza roxb (Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb) to increase milk production in mothers postpartum.
Research Methods : Quasy experimental approach to non equivalent control group design. The sample is whole mothers post partum who breastfeed with purposive sampling. Extract Curcuma Xanthorrhiza the independent variable and the dependent variable of the hormone prolactin, the milk production and the baby's weight. The bivariate analysis using a paired t-test for paired variables test and test independent t-test for unpaired test variables.
Results : Extract curcuma xanthorrhiza roxb that affect to increase hormone prolactin levels (p = 0.000), increase volume of milk ( p = 0.001), increase frequency of bowel (p = 0.001), increase bladder frequency (p = 0.000), increase the number of hours of sleep babies (p = 0.002), increase the baby's weight (p = 0.000).
Conclusion and Suggestion : The extract curcuma xanthorrhiza roxb can increase the hormone prolactin, the milk production on mother postpartum and the baby's weight.
Extract curcuma xanthorrhiza can as an option for mothers postpartum to increase milk production.
