PENGARUH PERILAKU ORANG TUA TERHADAP STATUS OHI-S ANAK DI SDN 03 KARANGJATI

Behavior is any activity or activity of man, whether observed directly or can not be observed by outsiders. Human behavior is the result of all kinds of experience as well as human interaction with the environment manifested in the form of knowledge, attitude and action. Parental behavior is very important to improve the oral hygiene of children and is one of the efforts in maintaining oral health of children. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of behavior (knowledge, attitudes and actions) of parents on the status of OHI-S children in SDN 03 Karangjati.
The type of this research is descriptive quantitative, with method of cross sectional approach. The total population in this study were 246 students. Sampling technique using random sample, in this case the writer take 15% from population that is in class IV counted 37 students and 37 parents. Measuring tool in this research is questionnaire and examination sheet. The obtained data is displayed in the form of frequency distribution table and analyzed by using cross tabulation table.
The results showed that most of the parents in SDN 03 Karangjati had dominant knowledge, attitudes and actions on the criteria enough with OHI-S status of children with medium criteria. The conclusion is that there is a tendency of influence between behavior (knowledge, attitude, action) of parent to OHI-S child status. Based on the results of the study the authors suggest to parents to increase knowledge and awareness about the importance of dental health, then to the school to hold a mass toothbrush and Dental Health School to consider the cleanliness and dental health of students.
