Dysmenorrhea is pain during menstruation. The prevalence of dysmenorrhea in Indonesia around 55%, in Central Java about 42.3% -69.6% and approximately 47.8% in Magelang. Based on preliminary studies in the Junior High School 2 Candimulyo experiencing dysmenorrhea 46.98%. How to cope with menstrual pain can be done with non-pharmacological approaches such as herbal remedies, one of which curcuma zedoaria extracts.
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of curcuma zedoaria extract consumption on the pain level of dysmenorrhea in the adolescent girls. This research was conducted at Junior High School 2 Candimulyo Magelang regency.
The research is a pre-experimental design with one-group pre-post test. The number of samples in this study 56 adolescent girls who have dysmenorrhea. Sampling is sampling saturated. Collecting data by questionnaires containing scale Numeric Rating Scale.
