The incidence of premenstrual syndrome ranges from 80 percent.
Epidemiological studies indicate approximately 20 percent of women of reproductive age
experience moderate to severe symptoms of PMS. Seeing the impact of PMS causes
disruption of the activities will require treatment to reduce symptoms. Handling PMS
there are two kinds of pharmacological and non-pharmacological. In secondary school,
Darul Fikri Integrated Islam Bawen treatment used for 30% of this herbal drink, 70% rest
and rubbed balm or eucalyptus oil.
The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with the
practice of young women in overcoming premenstrual syndrome (PMS) in junior
Integrated Islam Darul Fikri Bawen.
Design research using correlational with cross sectional approach. The
population in this study were all young women who experience PMS at Darul Fikri SMP
Integrated Islam Bawen many as 76 students, the number of samples of 64 respondents to
the sampling technique is simple random sampling. Data collection tools in the form of a
questionnaire. Data were analyzed using chi square test.
The results showed no correlation between knowledge with practice of young
women in overcoming premenstrual syndrome (PMS) in junior Integrated Islam Darul
Fikri Bawen (p = 0.002). There is a relationship with the attitude of young women
practice in dealing with premenstrual syndrome (PMS) in junior Integrated Islam Darul
Fikri Bawen (p = 0.007). There is a relationship with a practice resources young women
in overcoming premenstrual syndrome (PMS) in junior Integrated Islam Darul Fikri
Bawen (p = 0.007).
Suggestions of respondents expected to find information about STDs good
teacher of mass media and health professionals and friends so that they can cope with
PMS in the right way.
